What is home staging?
Home staging is where specific furnishings are used to present a house for sale. It involves depersonalising, decluttering, and highlighting the assets of a home to make it appealing to more potential buyers. Furnishings are rented while the home is on the market.
How long is the staging in for?
We offer a six-week initial hire term. In the Manawatu houses typically sell in less time than this, and our staging stats show our staged homes sell 40-60% faster than the REINZ averages in our region. Proof that staging works. However, no two properties or situations are ever the same so we do provide flexible extensions, if required.
Is home staging worth it?
Home Staging is the only real estate marketing tool with a clear return on investment, dollar for dollar spent. Globally, for every $100 dollars spent on home staging the returns are around $340. Staged homes sell on average for 10% more than an un-staged homes! The cost of staging is always less than the cost of reducing your sale price. And not only that, but they also sell on up to 70% faster than non-staged homes
How long does it take to stage a home?
Installation typically takes less than 6 hours, as long as the team has been able to view the home prior, to prepare our furnishing selections. Preparation done back at our warehouse can easily take a stylist a day. We also need the house clean, clear, and empty of trades before we install. Our team bring in heavy items so also ask that owners are not present during installation, to meet our occupational safety obligations.
What's included?
Site visit, picking, delivery, installation, and styling every room you select. This includes curated furniture, linen, accessories, faux indoor plants, towels in the bathroom, accessories for kitchen benches, tables, and lamps in the bedroom. We also pack-up and remove all our items at the end of your hire term. We also provide insurance cover for our items while they are under your care (a $2500 excess applies, but an excess buy-out is available if purchased at time of staging).
What is not included?
We do not provide curtains, cleaning, or gardening services, but we can put you in touch with local people if needed. We also do not provide appliances such as refrigerators, or microwave ovens.
What if I am living in the home I'm selling?
Unfortunately, we now only stage vacant properties. Even with the best intentions of owners, we have been let down too many times with damaged or soiled furnishings.
Can I pick my own furnishings?
We aren't a furniture hire company, we are professional stagers. Our warehouse stock changes almost daily so we do not allow clients to reserve specific items. If you have a specific style, look, or colour theme in mind, talk to our stylist. We have staged over 2,500 homes so know what works best to attract your target buyer and will integrate your ideas into our staging.
What if I need the staging in for longer?
No problem. We offer fortnightly or monthly extensions at reasonable rates. Cancel any time.

Do you include art?
We usually supply and install eye-catching art to suit a specific space. We only hang this where a new owner would and use the smallest fixings possible to minimise holes. While you can ask for us not to do this prior to installation, we always recommend art. It finishes off spaces and adds a wow-factor for potential buyers. Note: Command-strips are not recommended as art falls off walls and causes more damage than a tiny nail hole ever would!
Can I book last minute?
We always try to do our best to make your dates work. However, we are generally staging homes every day, so recommend giving us as much notice as possible. In Spring and Summer we are typically booked out 2-3 weeks in advance. But even last minute - please enquiry, we always try to help.
